Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, has felicitated former First Lady of Delta State, Dame Mrs. Edith Okowa, on the occasion of her 65th birthday, describing her as a woman of exceptional grace, compassion, and enduring service to humanity.
In a goodwill message marking the milestone on Monday, Dr. Osuoza joined family members, friends, associates, and beneficiaries of the former First Lady’s philanthropic efforts in celebrating what he described as a life dedicated to uplifting others and advancing the welfare of vulnerable groups in society.
The Commissioner commended Dame Edith Okowa for her contributions to the development of Delta State, particularly through initiatives that impacted women, children, and the less privileged during her tenure as First Lady.
According to him, her legacy remains a shining example of selfless service, humility, and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of the people.
“Your life has been a remarkable testament to selfless service, godly virtues, compassion, and dedication to humanity. Through your interventions and advocacy, you touched countless lives and left an enduring legacy of empowerment and hope,” Osuoza stated.
He noted that Dame Okowa’s passion for improving the lives of the disadvantaged earned her admiration and respect across Delta State and beyond, adding that her contributions continue to inspire many.
As she celebrates her 65th birthday, Dr. Osuoza prayed for God’s continued blessings upon her life, wishing her good health, peace, strength, and many more years of fruitful service.
He expressed optimism that the new chapter of her life would be filled with greater accomplishments, fulfillment, and divine favour.
“May the Almighty God reward your years of service with renewed grace, abundant joy, and continued blessings. May this diamond milestone usher in greater happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead,” he added.
Dame Edith Okowa, wife of former Delta State Governor, , is widely recognised for her advocacy on issues affecting women, children, and vulnerable members of society, as well as her commitment to humanitarian causes.
She clocks 65 on June 1, 2026.
