The Muslim community in Taraba State and the family of Abdulmalik Inuwa, Nigeria’s representative at the global Qur’anic recitation competition in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, have expressed appreciation to Governor Agbu Kefas for his support towards the young Qur’anic scholar.

The commendation was contained in a statement issued in Jalingo by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Muslim Religious Matters, Alhaji Hussaini Isma’il, who said the governor demonstrated strong commitment to Abdulmalik’s participation in the international competition.

According to him, Governor Kefas supported Abdulmalik from the commencement of his journey to the successful completion of the competition, describing the gesture as more than financial assistance.

He said the governor’s intervention reflected his administration’s commitment to promoting Qur’anic education, nurturing young talents, supporting Islamic activities and creating opportunities for youths in Taraba to excel at national and international levels.

Isma’il noted that the governor further demonstrated his support for the Muslim community by honouring Abdulmalik during activities marking the 35th anniversary of Taraba State’s creation on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

He described Abdulmalik’s participation in the global competition as a significant achievement and a source of pride to his family, the Muslim Ummah, Taraba State and Nigeria.

The Special Adviser also commended the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, for his contributions towards Abdulmalik’s successful participation in the Qur’anic competition.

He said the support and encouragement provided by the two leaders had inspired Abdulmalik and other young people to pursue excellence, uphold their faith and continue contributing positively to the development of Taraba State and Nigeria.

Isma’il further described Governor Kefas’ continued support for Islamic activities, education and youth empowerment as evidence of an inclusive and people-oriented leadership committed to building a prosperous state.

“On behalf of the family of Abdulmalik Inuwa and the entire Muslim community in Taraba State, we express our profound gratitude to His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his generosity, encouragement, sponsorship and unwavering support,” he said.

He prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection and blessings upon the governor, as well as greater wisdom and strength to enable him to continue serving Taraba State, Nigeria and humanity.
