…warns against attempts to mislead party faithful following NDC primary election
The campaign organization of Chief Sheriff Mulade has strongly refuted a statement circulating on social media alleging that the Warri Federal Constituency aspirant conceded defeat and endorsed another candidate following the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity of Team Chief Sheriff Mulade Campaign Organization, Comrade Friday Ugedi, the campaign described the publication as false, fraudulent, and a deliberate attempt to mislead party members and the public.
According to the statement, Chief Mulade neither stepped down from the contest nor endorsed any other aspirant, insisting that reports suggesting otherwise were entirely fabricated.
“The statement did not emanate from Chief Sheriff Mulade and does not in any way reflect his position or that of his campaign organization,” the statement said.
The campaign alleged that the purported concession statement was the handiwork of individuals seeking to create confusion in the aftermath of the NDC primary election, which it maintained was won by Chief Mulade.
It further asserted that Chief Mulade remains the duly elected winner of the party’s primary election for the Warri Federal Constituency and has not at any point withdrawn from the race or relinquished his mandate.
The organization accused those behind the publication of attempting to manipulate public perception and undermine the outcome of the primary election through misinformation and political propaganda.
The statement noted that Chief Mulade continues to enjoy widespread support among party members, delegates, youths, women, and stakeholders across Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South-West Local Government Areas.
While urging party faithful, supporters, members of the public, and media organizations to disregard the alleged step-down statement, the campaign reiterated its confidence in the integrity of the primary election process and the validity of the outcome.
It maintained that no amount of misinformation, blackmail, forgery, or political pressure would alter what it described as the mandate freely given to Chief Mulade by delegates during the primary election.
The campaign reaffirmed Chief Mulade’s commitment to democratic principles, transparency, and justice, expressing confidence that the authentic results of the primary election would withstand any scrutiny.
