Key stakeholders in secondary education across Delta State convened in Asaba on Friday for a one-day training workshop aimed at strengthening service delivery and enhancing professional standards in the school system.
Organized by the Post Primary Education Board (PPEB), the training, themed “Improving Service Delivery Through Effective Classroom and Office Management for the Enhancement of the MORE Agenda in Secondary Education,” brought together teaching and non-teaching staff from secondary schools across the state.
The initiative is part of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration’s commitment to educational reform and the implementation of the MORE Agenda, with a strong emphasis on capacity building, innovation, and accountability.
Chairman of the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Hon. Charles Emetulu, who was joined by committee member Hon. Emmanuel Sinebe, emphasized the strategic importance of continuous training for educators and administrative staff.
“Teachers are the drivers of knowledge and national development. Equipping them with current best practices is non-negotiable if we must raise a generation of responsible, knowledgeable citizens,” Emetulu stated.
“I commend the administration for prioritizing teacher development and urge all participants to make the most of this opportunity.”
In her keynote address, the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, highlighted the critical role of effective classroom and office management in achieving policy goals.
She noted that even the most ambitious educational strategies would fail without proper implementation.

Chairman of the PPEB, Dr. Emmanuel Tibi, reiterated the board’s unwavering dedication to improving performance across all tiers of the secondary school system.
“We are determined to ensure optimal productivity from both teaching and non-teaching staff. This is central to actualizing the vision of the MORE Agenda in education,” Dr. Tibi stated.
Also speaking, Mrs. Campaign Preyor, Director of Recruitment and Training at PPEB, outlined the objectives of the workshop, stressing that the training was tailored to empower staff across the system for improved service delivery.
She commended all critical stakeholders for their support and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to excellence.
