A fracas broke out at the polling unit of Osun State Deputy Governor and Accord Party deputy governorship candidate, Prince Kola Adewusi, during Saturday’s governorship election.
The incident occurred shortly after the APC deputy governorship candidate, Hon. Benjamin Kayode Adereti, arrived at the polling unit in Ile-Ife.
Adereti had earlier cast his ballot at Waasin Polling Unit 11, Ilaare Ward 3, before proceeding to Adewusi’s polling unit.
His arrival reportedly triggered a confrontation with some supporters of the Accord Party candidate, resulting in a brief altercation at the voting centre.
The situation caused tension in the area as party supporters exchanged words and engaged in a physical confrontation.
However, no injuries or arrests were reported as of the time of filing this report.
