Rt. Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji, member representing Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for a third term ahead of the 2027 general elections after emerging as the party’s consensus candidate.

Magaji’s emergence followed the withdrawal of four aspirants from the race in support of his candidacy during the APC House of Representatives primary election held in Zonkwa, headquarters of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

Announcing the result, Returning Officer Edward Pama disclosed that Magaji polled 1,876 votes in a peaceful and orderly exercise conducted without incident.

He noted that the smooth conduct of the primary paved the way for the consensus arrangement adopted by the party.

The lawmaker’s emergence came after fellow aspirants voluntarily stepped down in the interest of party unity and cohesion within the constituency.

Speaking shortly after his declaration, Magaji expressed gratitude to God, party leaders, stakeholders, aspirants, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.

He described the outcome as a triumph for unity, peace, and collective progress rather than a personal victory.

According to him, the decision of the aspirants to support his candidacy demonstrated patriotism, maturity, and commitment to the development of the constituency.

He commended the aspirants, Sylvester Anthony, Simon Katunku Gora, Bwans Gideon Kambai, Audu Maikori, and Nita Byack George, for placing the overall interest of the constituency above personal ambition.

Magaji assured party members and stakeholders that the journey ahead would be inclusive, promising fairness, broad participation, and collective ownership of both the campaign process and future legislative engagements.

The federal lawmaker also praised Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for what he described as exemplary leadership and commitment to peace, fairness, and unity throughout the primary process.

He further acknowledged the contributions of Deputy Governor Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, members of the Consensus Committee, and APC State Chairman Atiku Sankey for ensuring a transparent and peaceful exercise.

Magaji equally appreciated prominent party leaders and stakeholders, including Sunday Marshall Katung, Larai Sylvia Ishaku, Bege Joseph, Emmanuel Kantiok, Samuel Kambai, Henry Marah, Abdulmalik Durunguwa, Joseph Thot, Esua Guga, and Naymarie Francesca Musa-Akande, for their support during the process.

He also thanked elders, youths, women groups, party supporters, and campaign teams across the constituency for their prayers, sacrifices, and steadfast loyalty.

Calling for unity after the primary, Magaji extended a hand of fellowship to supporters of all aspirants, urging party members to work together for the success of the APC and the continued development of the constituency.

He reaffirmed his commitment to attracting more democratic dividends and development projects to Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency if re-elected, stressing that his vision remained the building of a more united, inclusive, and prosperous constituency.

Magaji urged residents to shun division and embrace peace and togetherness, insisting that unity remained essential for progress and electoral victory.

“With unity, determination and the support of our people, victory is assured by the grace of God,” he said.

The lawmaker concluded by praying for continued peace, progress, and divine blessings upon Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.
