Senator Ned Nwoko has maintained that he emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries for Delta North, declaring that he possesses substantial evidence to support his claim.
Speaking during an interview on ARISE TV, the senator stated that the primaries were conducted across all 98 wards in the senatorial district and that video recordings from each ward allegedly confirmed his victory.
According to Nwoko, the materials would be presented to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for verification and necessary action.
“The APC primaries for Delta North were held across 98 wards. I have ward-by-ward video evidence showing that I won the election, and I will submit it to the party,” he said.
Nwoko further alleged that midway into the collation process, his team was informed that results would no longer be announced at the ward level as initially expected.
He explained that party officials later communicated that the final outcome would instead be declared at the national level, a development his camp accepted in anticipation of what he described as a transparent process.
“Halfway through the exercise, we were informed that results would not be announced at the ward level. We were told the final declaration would come from the national level,” he stated.
The senator also raised concerns over what he described as the sudden emergence of results from a single ward allegedly linked to political loyalists of former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
“Instead, we were suddenly confronted with results from one ward associated with the former governor, and that became the basis for announcing the outcome of the entire primaries,” Nwoko alleged.
He insisted that results from the overwhelming majority of the 98 wards showed that he was the rightful winner of the APC Delta North Senatorial primary election.
The APC National Assembly primaries conducted on May 18, 2026, were reportedly accompanied by allegations of irregularities and manipulation in some states.
However, the party’s national leadership has assured members that due process and fairness would guide the review of the exercise.
The party also indicated that the final outcomes of the primaries would be officially announced by the National Working Committee (NWC) following a comprehensive review process.
