Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the appointment of Engineer Peter Samuel as the new General Manager of the Borno State Agricultural Mechanization Authority.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, who said the decision followed Samuel’s demonstrated professional competence, extensive experience, and proven record in agricultural engineering and mechanization.
According to the statement, the new General Manager possesses the technical expertise, academic qualifications, and leadership capacity required to reposition BOSAMA in line with the Zulum administration’s drive to modernise agriculture and expand mechanised farming across the state.
Samuel is an Agricultural Engineer with extensive experience spanning agricultural mechanization, farm power and machinery, irrigation engineering, agricultural infrastructure development, research, and project management.
He holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Farm Power and Machinery from Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, formerly known as the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
He also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Farm Management and Production Economics from Nasarawa State University and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Agricultural and Environmental Resources Engineering from University of Maiduguri.
Before his appointment, Samuel served as a Lecturer in Farm Power and Machinery at Ramat Polytechnic.
Throughout his career, he has occupied several strategic positions, including General Manager of a commercial agricultural enterprise, Project Coordinator, Programme Coordinator, and Consultant on various agricultural development initiatives implemented by national and international organisations.
He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers.
Governor Zulum congratulated Samuel on his appointment and urged him to leverage his expertise and experience to strengthen the operations of BOSAMA and advance the state’s agricultural mechanisation programme.
