Member representing Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency of Taraba State in the House of Representatives, Jafaru Yakubu Chiroma, has expressed optimism about securing another term in office, citing his developmental projects and legislative contributions across the constituency.

Speaking with journalists in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, Chiroma said the numerous completed and ongoing projects executed in communities across Bali and Gassol Local Government Areas stand as evidence of his commitment to effective representation and grassroots development.

The lawmaker noted that beyond lawmaking and oversight responsibilities, members of the National Assembly are expected to facilitate developmental projects capable of improving the living conditions of their constituents.

According to him, his representation has significantly impacted sectors such as healthcare, rural electrification, road construction, water supply, and infrastructural development within the constituency.

Chiroma disclosed that one of the major ongoing projects under his intervention is the 33KVA electricity project stretching from Mutum Biyu to Yerima and Gassol.

He explained that electricity poles and other necessary facilities have already been installed, adding that the project would provide electricity to over 20 communities that had never previously enjoyed power supply.

He further stated that communities expected to benefit from the project include Yerima, Mararraban Gassol, Mbebal, Gunduma, and Tella.

The federal lawmaker also revealed that access to potable water has improved in several communities through the construction of boreholes aimed at addressing persistent water shortages in rural areas.

According to him, the 2026 appropriation also captured the extension of the electricity project from Tella to Dan’anacha axis, covering parts of the constituency bordering Ibi and Wukari Local Government Areas.

He described the project as one of the enduring legacies of his representation at the National Assembly.

Chiroma further highlighted a proposed road project linking Tella, Anema, and Maihula, which has been included in the 2026 appropriation and is currently awaiting funding approval.

He explained that the road, when completed, would significantly reduce travel time between Bali and Gassol by eliminating the need for commuters to take the longer route through Garba Chede.

The legislator said the project would enhance socio-economic activities, improve transportation, and ease movement for residents across the constituency.

He also identified the ongoing 3-megawatt mini-grid solar project as another major intervention capable of transforming economic activities within the area.

According to him, the project, which is already about 70 percent completed, would extend electricity supply to communities including Suntai, Bali, Tella, Anema, Sunkani, and Garba Chede.

Chiroma stressed that his developmental interventions are in line with the broader development agenda of Governor Agbu Kefas, noting that cooperation between legislators and the executive arm of government remains essential for sustainable progress in the state.

He added that lawmakers must continue to work closely with the state government in order to deliver meaningful development and improve the welfare of the people
