Reputation Remains Our Greatest Asset’ — NIPR President At Kaduna PR Week

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has reaffirmed its dedication to national development, inducting 109 new members and fellows at the ongoing Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW 2026) in Kaduna.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, underscored the institute’s resolve to advance initiatives that strengthen Nigeria’s growth and global standing.

He disclosed that the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management recently recognised the institute for positioning reputation as its most critical asset.

Dr. Neliaku further revealed that NIPR has developed a comprehensive framework for measuring reputation in line with international standards, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to sustain and enhance Nigeria’s image.

He noted that the conferment of fellowship within the institute follows a rigorous and merit-based process consistent with global best practices.

Delivering remarks on behalf of the honourees, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, called on public relations professionals to leverage their expertise in addressing misinformation, rebuilding trust, and fostering national unity.

He stressed that effective communication, active listening, and sincerity in public service are essential to democratic consolidation and national progress.

Kalu also expressed appreciation to the institute for the honour accorded to him and other recipients.

In his address, the Minister of State for Works, Bello Mohammed Goronyo, reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to promoting inclusiveness and safeguarding freedom of expression.

He described NIPR as a highly respected professional body with significant influence both within Nigeria and internationally.

A total of 20 fellows were conferred during the ceremony, including renowned broadcaster Dr. Moji Makanjuola, as well as Bassey and Ekaette Ebong, among others.

Additionally, 17 distinguished personalities were awarded honorary fellowships, including Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, the Minister of Defence, Minister of State for Works Bello Goronyo, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of JAMB, and Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

A major highlight of the event was the unveiling of the institute’s fourth register.

The Vice President of NIPR, Professor Emmanuel Dandaura, also presented an update on the ongoing construction of the NIPR “Reputation House” in Abuja.

The institute further held its 63rd Annual General Meeting during the week, while the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter emerged as host of the 2027 Nigeria Public Relations Week, scheduled to take place from April 19 to 24, 2027.
