Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated Muslims in Delta State and across the country on the celebration of this year’s Eid al-Adha, urging them to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and national development.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori called on Muslim faithful to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, obedience, and selflessness which define the significance of Eid-el-Kabir.
The governor encouraged adherents of Islam to sustain the tradition of charity and support for the less privileged, stressing that caring for the poor and vulnerable remains one of the core teachings of the Islamic faith.
He urged Nigerians to continue demonstrating love, tolerance, and commitment to humanity through acts of service and support for one another, particularly in difficult times.
Oborevwori also underscored the need for peaceful coexistence among citizens regardless of religious or ethnic differences, noting that unity and mutual understanding remain essential for national progress.
According to him, Nigeria can achieve greater peace, stability, and sustainable development through collective prayers, patriotism, and shared commitment to nation-building.
The governor further advised residents to celebrate responsibly and use the festive period as an opportunity to reflect on the values of faith, sacrifice, and love for humanity.
He wished Muslims a peaceful, joyful, and spiritually rewarding Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
