Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has reflected on his three years in the 10th Senate, highlighting a range of legislative accomplishments, constituency development initiatives, and grassroots interventions undertaken since assuming office.

In a statement issued to commemorate the milestone, the lawmaker expressed appreciation to the people of Delta North for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them of his continued commitment to quality representation, impactful legislation, and sustainable development.

Nwoko disclosed that within the period under review, he sponsored 33 bills and 22 motions aimed at addressing critical national concerns while advancing the socio-economic interests of his constituents.

Among the key legislative proposals championed by the senator are the Constitution Alteration Bill for the creation of Anioma State, the restoration of Aniocha North Constituency II into the Independent National Electoral Commission’s programme ahead of the 2027 general elections, and a bill seeking the upgrade of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, to a Federal University of Technology.

The senator also pointed to his contributions in the health sector, particularly through legislation focused on malaria eradication and vaccine development. According to him, the initiative has successfully scaled the legislative process and is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s efforts to combat one of its most prevalent public health challenges.

Beyond his legislative responsibilities, Nwoko said his office has implemented several constituency intervention programmes designed to improve the welfare of residents across Delta North. These interventions include scholarship awards, educational support schemes, healthcare programmes, skills acquisition and human capital development initiatives, youth and women empowerment projects, and the installation of solar-powered streetlights in various communities.

Assessing his stewardship so far, the senator maintained that effective public service should be evaluated based on measurable outcomes and visible impact rather than rhetoric, noting that although significant strides have been made, there is still much work ahead.

“While much has been achieved, I remain conscious of the work that still lies ahead and committed to pursuing it with diligence, courage, and purpose,” he stated.

He further commended the people of Delta North for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout his tenure, describing the achievements recorded over the past three years as a collective accomplishment.

“The progress we celebrate today belongs to all of us,” Nwoko said, reaffirming his resolve to sustain efforts aimed at delivering greater dividends of democracy and improving the quality of life of constituents across the senatorial district.
