Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Public Enlightenment (Projects and Policies) and Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Ward 3, Olisa Ifeajika, has engaged unit coordinators and other grassroots stakeholders in Illah, Oshimili North Local Government Area, as part of efforts to strengthen support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government and the M.O.R.E Agenda of the Delta State Government.

The engagement, held on August 20, 2026, brought together councillors, ward leaders, unit coordinators and other stakeholders, providing a platform to appreciate their contributions to grassroots mobilisation and public enlightenment.

Ifeajika commended the participants for their commitment to communicating the policies, programmes and achievements of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the people.

Highlighting some of the initiatives of the Tinubu administration, Ifeajika cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), increased federal allocations to states and local governments, and ongoing efforts towards the establishment of State Police.

He said the initiatives were designed to expand access to education, strengthen the fiscal capacity of sub-national governments and improve the nation’s security architecture.

Ifeajika also pointed to the Federal Government’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative, saying the deployment of CNG buses would provide Nigerians with more affordable transportation while supporting the country’s transition towards cleaner energy.

He maintained that the reforms were aimed at addressing critical economic and social challenges while creating opportunities for Nigerians.

On Delta State, Ifeajika commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as sustained efforts to implement people-oriented programmes under the M.O.R.E Agenda.

He listed infrastructure development, human capital development, youth empowerment, education, healthcare, road construction and social interventions among the areas receiving attention from the state government.

Ifeajika also highlighted the importance of road connectivity to communities in Oshimili North, disclosing that steps were being taken towards an intervention on the failed Ugbolu-Illah-Ebu road, which he said remained a major concern for residents.

He further disclosed plans by the state government to deploy 50 CNG buses and 50 electric-powered buses for mass transit, describing the initiative as a significant step towards improving transportation and mobility across the state.

Beyond government programmes, Ifeajika used the engagement to reaffirm his commitment to sustained grassroots interaction, saying regular consultations would provide a channel for residents to communicate their concerns, aspirations and recommendations to relevant authorities.

He announced that the ongoing Oshimili North Appreciation Tour would soon get to Illah, where residents, party members and supporters would be appreciated for their loyalty and contributions to the growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The meeting also featured an interactive session during which councillors, unit coordinators and other stakeholders raised concerns and offered recommendations on strengthening government and party engagement at the grassroots.

The stakeholders subsequently reaffirmed their support for the APC and pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation and public enlightenment.

Responding to the issues raised, Ifeajika assured the participants that their concerns would continue to receive attention, pledging to “go the extra mile” in serving and engaging the people.

He called for greater unity, effective grassroots mobilisation and sustained communication, stressing that the success of both the Renewed Hope Agenda and the M.O.R.E Agenda would ultimately be measured by their impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.

Ifeajika reaffirmed his commitment to working with constituents and community stakeholders to ensure that residents of Illah and the wider Oshimili North communities remain connected to government programmes, opportunities and interventions.
