The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DCTDA) has stepped up enforcement of environmental sanitation regulations with the sealing of several properties in Asaba, following a court order.

The operation, led by the Agency’s Head of Environment, Mr. Isaac Nwosu, targeted individuals and business premises that failed to comply with summons issued during previous sittings of the Agency’s mobile court.

Properties affected by the enforcement exercise include a residential building on Isioma Welder Road, an aluminium and furniture workshop, a scrap dump site known as “Scrap Dump 74,” a gas retail outlet, and a construction site located on Princes Ajudua Crescent.

Mr. Nwosu explained that the action became necessary due to persistent violations of environmental laws and the refusal of the affected parties to appear before the court as required.

He reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to upholding environmental standards to safeguard public health and maintain a clean urban environment.

Also speaking, the Director General of DCTDA, Patrick Ukah, stressed that the Agency remains resolute in enforcing compliance across the capital territory.

He warned that defaulters would continue to face strict legal consequences.

The Agency urged residents and business operators to comply with environmental regulations and honour official summons to avoid sanctions.
