34 Convicted As DCTDA, Ugbolu Community Convene Mobile Court For Sanitation Enforcement

The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DCTDA), in partnership with the leadership of Ugbolu Community, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, conducted a mobile court session to prosecute residents who defaulted on the state’s monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

The enforcement operation, which took place between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., was carried out in collaboration with the President General of Ugbolu Community, Mr. Anthony Udezua, as part of efforts to ensure compliance with sanitation regulations.

Representing the Director General of the Agency, Mr. Patrick Ukah, the Head of Environment, Mr. Isaac Nwosu, led the exercise and reiterated the Agency’s resolve to strictly enforce environmental laws across the capital territory.

Presiding over the session, Magistrate Dike Magdalene heard 43 cases involving sanitation defaulters.

At the conclusion of proceedings, 34 individuals were convicted, three were discharged, while six offenders were assigned community service.

The Agency noted that the initiative is part of sustained measures to enhance environmental hygiene and safeguard public health, emphasizing that violations of sanitation laws will continue to attract legal consequences.

Residents were further encouraged to adhere strictly to the monthly sanitation exercise, underscoring the shared responsibility of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
