A prominent Delta State–born development advocate and environmental rights activist, Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff, PhD, the Ibe-Serimowei of the ancient oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, has formally declared his intention to contest the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Mulade pledged to deliver purposeful, people-centred, and inclusive representation at the National Assembly if elected.

He assured constituents of his commitment to sustainable development, economic empowerment, job creation, and expanded opportunities for skills acquisition across the constituency.

“I appeal to the good people of Warri Federal Constituency to make a wise and informed choice in 2027 by supporting my candidacy.

“I am one of you, and I am committed to providing accessible, reliable, and impactful representation that reflects our collective aspirations,” he stated.

Mulade, who is also a United Nations Peace Ambassador, urged political actors to embrace decorum and focus on issue-based campaigns, rather than divisive rhetoric and personal attacks.

He emphasized that regardless of political differences, the unity of the people must remain paramount after the elections.

Highlighting his policy priorities, he noted that his tenure would place strong emphasis on the empowerment of youths, women, and the elderly, whom he described as the most vulnerable segments of society.

He reiterated his resolve to champion initiatives that will uplift livelihoods and foster inclusive growth throughout the constituency.
