Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the appointment of four Special Advisers and a Senior Technical Assistant (STA) in a move aimed at strengthening governance and advancing the state’s post-insurgency recovery programme.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, who said the decision was made in line with the powers vested in the governor under Section 196(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
Those appointed as Special Advisers are Engr. Ali Goni Lawan, Hon. Ali Sheriff Galgal, Hon. Bukar Aliyu Daja and Hon. Makinta M. Zarami.
Governor Zulum also named Engr. Gujja Bukar Dalori as Senior Technical Assistant on Reconstruction.
According to the statement, the appointments are designed to bolster the administration’s capacity to drive effective governance, fast-track reconstruction projects and promote sustainable development across Borno State following nearly two decades of insurgency.
The governor congratulated the appointees and urged them to live up to the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating commitment, diligence and integrity in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He further encouraged them to leverage their experience and professional expertise to support his administration’s agenda of rebuilding communities, consolidating peace and improving service delivery for the people of Borno State.
