The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, represented the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, NPM, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the permanent site of the Effurun Area Command in Uvwie Kingdom, Delta State.
The historic ceremony brought held on Tuesday June 30, 2025, together His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, alongside other revered traditional rulers, government officials, senior officers of sister security agencies, top police officers, community leaders, and other distinguished stakeholders.
The event marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen policing infrastructure and enhance security service delivery within Effurun and its surrounding communities.
Representing the Inspector-General of Police, CP Oyeniyi commended the collaborative efforts of the Uvwie Kingdom, relevant stakeholders, and all those whose support made the project possible.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to foster stronger partnerships with communities while improving operational capacity through modern infrastructure.
The groundbreaking ceremony underscored the shared commitment of the Police, traditional institution, government, and the people of Uvwie Kingdom to promote peace, security, and sustainable development across the area.
The Delta State Police Command described the event as another testament to the enduring partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and host communities in advancing public safety and effective policing.
