Oborevwori Assures Delta Youths Of More Employment Opportunities

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Monday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating more employment opportunities for youths through ongoing infrastructure projects and strategic collaborations with construction companies operating in the state.

The governor gave the assurance while addressing workers at the Julius Berger Nigeria Plc project site in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area.

Oborevwori observed that unemployment and economic hardship continue to pose serious challenges to many households, stressing the need for the government to sustain development initiatives capable of improving livelihoods and empowering young people.

According to him, many youths are struggling due to limited opportunities, adding that the government must continue to invest in projects that generate jobs, stimulate economic activities, and extend development to communities across the state.

He noted that contractors and workers handling projects in Delta State remain committed to supporting the growth of their host communities, adding that sincere efforts toward development deserve public support and cooperation.

The governor assured that his administration would continue to partner with Julius Berger on major infrastructure projects as part of efforts to expand employment opportunities and accelerate urban renewal in Warri, Effurun, and other parts of the state.

He disclosed that the reconstruction of the Effurun Roundabout to NPA Road axis had already been awarded to the construction firm in line with his administration’s agenda to modernise infrastructure within the Warri/Effurun metropolis.

Governor Oborevwori also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for economic reforms aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy, noting that the policies had improved revenue generation for states and supported the timely payment of salaries and execution of developmental projects.

He called on workers and residents to continue supporting the Tinubu administration and candidates of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections to sustain ongoing developmental efforts across the country.

Speaking further, the governor stated that the Trans Warri–Ode Itsekiri Roads and Bridges project, though completed, would be inaugurated after the completion of the Ubeji-Ifie Road.

He reiterated his administration’s resolve to complete critical infrastructure projects across the state, including roads, bridges, and other public facilities, assuring that ongoing projects would ultimately deliver long-term benefits to the people.

Oborevwori appreciated workers and supporters for their commitment to the state’s development agenda and assured that his administration would remain focused on people-oriented policies and projects capable of improving living conditions across Delta State.

He also prayed for divine protection over workers, residents, and road users, expressing confidence that the ongoing projects would stand as enduring symbols of progress and development in the state.
