Engineer Afam Emma Eboh, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha North Local Government Area, has dismissed the recent outbursts by former Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as a failed political gimmick.
Reacting to Nwaoboshi’s criticism of the APC Delta North Senatorial Chairman, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka, over the dissolution of the so-called Forum of Delta North APC LGA and Ward Chairmen, Eboh described the senator’s comments as desperate and misleading.
Senator Nwaoboshi had accused Chairman Eluaka of overstepping his bounds and allegedly running the party as his personal empire.
But Engineer Eboh fired back, calling the accusations both unfair and outrageous, insisting that the former senator “completely misfired” in his attempt to regain political relevance within the APC Delta North structure.
According to Eboh, the APC Constitution does not recognize the dissolved bodies, asserting that the Senatorial Chairman acted within his constitutional powers to enforce discipline and maintain party unity.
“In line with the APC Constitution, the Senatorial District Chairman has the authority to dismantle any unconstitutional groups or forums that breed disunity or undermine the decisions of the party’s established organs,” Eboh stated.
He added that the action taken by Chairman Eluaka was both timely and necessary to preserve the integrity and cohesion of the party in Delta North.
“The APC is a party governed by order and respect for hierarchy. It is unacceptable for unauthorized platforms, such as the Forum of LGA Chairmen, to openly challenge or ridicule decisions of a higher authority like the Senatorial District,” he stressed.
Eboh advised Senator Nwaoboshi to choose his battles wisely and to act like a loyal party member who should promote respect for constituted authority, the same respect he once enjoyed as a senator.
He also reminded Nwaoboshi of past precedence, noting that the Ibori Vanguard was dissolved under similar circumstances when the former senator was a leading figure in the group, a move that elicited no protest from him at the time.
Concluding, Eboh cautioned against playing divisive politics, stating, “This hide-and-seek game with the Delta North APC leadership is unnecessary and ill-motivated. True party men should build, not destroy.”
