A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Sagir Auwal Maidoya, has urged party members to strengthen internal cohesion and unity as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
Maidoya, who hails from Maiburuji Ward in Kaduna North Local Government Area and has expressed interest in the 2027 presidential race, said a united APC remains critical to sustaining political stability and national development.
In a statement made available to journalists in Kaduna, he reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda.
He described the APC as a key driver of Nigeria’s democratic progress, noting that its policy direction has continued to shape governance since the party assumed power in 2015.
While acknowledging the party’s achievements, Maidoya stressed that sustained success would depend on unity of purpose, discipline, and mutual respect among members.
He cautioned that political opponents may seek to take advantage of perceived divisions within the party, urging stakeholders to remain focused and avoid actions that could undermine collective progress.
The APC stalwart also called on party leaders at all levels to deepen engagement with citizens and prioritize policies that deliver measurable impact.
Speaking on his aspiration, Maidoya said his ambition is rooted in a desire to contribute to national development and strengthen the party’s structure.
He pledged to work with stakeholders to promote inclusiveness, bridge gaps, and mobilize grassroots support ahead of the elections.
He emphasized that the journey to 2027 should be guided by a shared vision of unity and national interest, expressing confidence that a cohesive APC would remain competitive in future elections.
