A leading aspirant for the Delta North Senatorial seat, Rex Biose, has congratulated Nigerian workers on the occasion of Labour Day, calling for greater participation of the workforce in the nation’s political and governance processes.
In a statement issued in Lagos, Biose commended workers for their resilience and steadfast commitment to national development despite prevailing economic challenges.
He noted that the Nigerian workforce has continued to play a vital role in sustaining peace, unity, and progress, even in difficult circumstances, and stressed the need for their contributions to be reflected more meaningfully in governance.
Biose urged workers to strengthen their collective voice by actively engaging in the political space, emphasizing that broader participation is essential to achieving sustainable reforms and improved welfare.
Positioning himself as part of a new generation of leaders in Delta North, he said citizens, particularly workers, must take a more active role in shaping leadership outcomes to promote accountability, credible governance, and respect for the rule of law.
He further highlighted the historic role of the labour movement in influencing national discourse, encouraging workers to renew their commitment to democratic processes and support leadership that aligns with the aspirations of the people.
