He equally encouraged Christians to spread the message of hope, saying that was the essence of the coming of Christ.
He prayed God to enable Christians retain the essence of the birth of His son, Jesus Christ.
The stalwart of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), in his message to Christians prayed: “May the essence of this Christmas not be lost on all of us”.
He noted that the coming of Christ brought joy to the world, pointing out that his greatest gift to mankind was his life which he shared on the Cross of Calvary.
Hear him: “The birth of Christ brought joy to the world. Christ is the total embodiment of love and love is giving.
“The greatest gift Christ gave for us was his life which we all share in commemoration of his birth anniversary today.
“I wish you and your family a love-filled Merry Christmas”, he added.
