A political group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Wanban Shinkafi Democratic Front, has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Gusau, where members of the group cited ongoing security interventions and infrastructure development as key factors behind their decision.
Speaking at the event, the group’s leader, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, said the endorsement reflects confidence in the leadership records of both the President and the governor.
He noted that federal efforts to address banditry and other forms of criminality in Zamfara and the wider North-West have shown measurable progress, alongside the execution of road projects in the region.
Shinkafi also commended Governor Lawal’s performance, highlighting initiatives in the education sector, including the renovation and equipping of schools, as well as interventions in healthcare, road construction, and support for students through the payment of examination fees.
He explained that the meeting also provided an opportunity for the group to reaffirm its political alignment and mobilise support for the two leaders ahead of the next election cycle.
The group urged its members and supporters to remain united and committed to its objectives, while cautioning against actions that could undermine its collective interests.
