The Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo; National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; and Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, have mobilised political stakeholders and residents of Plateau State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The trio made the call on Wednesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, during the inauguration of the movement’s state and local government structures and the unveiling of 25 campaign vehicles alongside other mobilisation materials.

They urged the newly inaugurated coordinators and party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation across communities, markets, religious centres and other public spaces to secure widespread support for the President ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking through the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited, Dr. Kestin Pondi, Tompolo described Tinubu as a courageous patriot and reformer whose policies, he said, were aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable economic growth and development.

He appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with the administration’s reforms, arguing that their benefits would become more evident with time.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a courageous man, a lover of his country and a reformer. He is reforming the country, and reforms, as we all know, take time.

“It is a gradual process, and with time, the benefits will trickle down to all our countrymen and women,” he said.

Pondi, quoting the movement’s grand patron, noted that state governments were increasingly paying salaries promptly and executing projects, while improved investor confidence could stimulate employment generation and economic growth.

He likened the current economic situation to planting a seed, which requires time and patience before yielding fruits.

According to him, the administration’s reform agenda would ultimately produce positive results, insisting that Tinubu deserved another term to consolidate the policies and programmes already underway.

He also cited progress towards the establishment of state police, noting that the proposed legislation had received the backing of several state Houses of Assembly.

Pondi called on the movement’s coordinators to take the campaign to the grassroots, urging them to visit every household, market and religious centre to communicate the administration’s achievements and solicit support for the President.

He maintained that Tinubu’s leadership had laid the foundation for national transformation, drawing comparisons with Asian economies that achieved significant development through sustained reforms.

### Yilwatda Highlights Security, Infrastructure Gains

In his remarks, Yilwatda urged the people of Plateau State to reciprocate what he described as Tinubu’s goodwill towards the state by voting massively for the President and other APC candidates in 2027.

He said the President had demonstrated commitment to addressing insecurity in Plateau through the deployment of security personnel and additional operational measures in troubled communities.

According to him, the Department of State Services (DSS) had been deployed to Bokkos, Riyom and other areas as part of efforts to tackle insecurity.

Yilwatda also disclosed that Plateau was among nine states selected for the first phase of the forest guards initiative, expressing optimism that the programme would strengthen security and improve the protection of vulnerable communities.

He further pointed to the proposed establishment of state police as a significant step towards community-based security, arguing that locally recruited personnel would be better positioned to understand and respond to threats in their respective areas.

On infrastructure, the APC national chairman said Plateau State was witnessing renewed federal attention, citing the ongoing dualisation of the Akwanga-Jos Road and plans concerning other major road projects across the state.

He identified the Mararaba-Jerma-Shendam road corridor through Pankshin as one of the routes requiring attention, adding that modern road infrastructure equipped with streetlights and surveillance cameras would improve safety and connectivity.

Yilwatda urged the electorate to support the President’s re-election, maintaining that continued cooperation between the federal and state governments would accelerate development in Plateau.

He also urged voters to support all APC candidates, expressing confidence that the state would deliver a strong electoral mandate for Tinubu in 2027.

### Mutfwang Backs Continuity, Urges Grassroots Mobilisation

Governor Mutfwang commended Tompolo for providing leadership and support for the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, urging its members to replicate the grassroots mobilisation strategy that contributed to the President’s electoral victory in 2023.

The governor said he had resolved in June 2023 to support Tinubu, whom he described as a leader committed to moving Nigeria forward.

“I made up my mind since June 2023 to travel with the President as a man who is leading Nigeria forward. The enemies of Nigeria will not win. The President is committed to our security across the country,” he said.

Mutfwang expressed confidence in the direction of the administration’s economic policies, urging Nigerians to remain patient and allow the reforms to deliver their anticipated benefits.

He likened the choice before the electorate to retaining a familiar driver, arguing that continuity would provide the opportunity to consolidate ongoing policies and programmes.

“We will not change our driver now. The driver you know is better; let’s stick with him,” the governor said.

He also called for the preservation of the existing power-sharing arrangement between northern and southern Nigeria, stressing the importance of honouring political agreements.

The governor expressed optimism that Plateau State would benefit from Yilwatda’s emergence as APC national chairman and predicted that the state would deliver the highest number of votes for Tinubu in the region.

He urged the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to sustain its mobilisation efforts and strengthen support for the President across the state.

### Movement Targets Nationwide Grassroots Support

Earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comrade Sunday Asuku, said the visit to Plateau was part of the organisation’s nationwide mobilisation campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.

He described Tinubu as the movement’s preferred candidate, arguing that the administration’s reform agenda should be sustained rather than abandoned.

Asuku commended Mutfwang and Yilwatda for their support for the President, urging party members and supporters to resist what he characterised as opposition attempts to undermine the administration’s achievements.

He called on the movement’s coordinators to take the campaign to the grassroots and persuade voters to support continuity in both the presidency and other elective offices.

“Do not let the opposition deceive you with empty promises. When they come, tell them, ‘No vacancy at the Presidency and in the governorship.’ A vote for continuity is to do more in sustaining the reforms. Follow a reformer, follow a performer,” he said.

The event was attended by members of the National Assembly, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, the state APC chairman, party elders, women and youth groups, among other political stakeholders.
