The Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Mohammed Adamu has approved the removal of Ebonyi State from Zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra State to Zone 9, Umuahia.
Recall that the governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi, had on 14th August, 2020, while inaugurating Ebonyi State Community Policing Advisory Committees, pleaded with the Inspector General of Police to kindly remove the state from the newly created zone 13, Ukpo, Anambra state to Umuahia, majorly on the ground of the proximity and safety of Ebonyians.
17 days, down the line, the IGP granted the request of the Governor, effect from September 1st 2020.
The Governor thanks IGP for his quick response, while affirming his avowed commitment in the security of lives and property of Ebonyians and beyond.
