The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled Vice President Kashim Shettima as the running mate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
The announcement was made on Friday during a meeting of the party’s leadership in Abuja, attended by members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), led by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
Also present at the stakeholders’ meeting were members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), headed by the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, formally presented the nomination forms of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima as the APC’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2027 general election.
The nomination forms were received by Prof. Yilwatda during the official presentation ceremony.
Confirming the development, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, stated that President Tinubu remains the party’s presidential candidate, while Senator Kashim Shettima is the vice-presidential candidate.
“The presidential candidate of the party is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and our vice-presidential candidate is Senator Kashim Shettima,” Morka said.
The formal announcement puts to rest speculations over the identity of President Tinubu’s running mate ahead of the 2027 presidential election, reaffirming the party’s decision to retain the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.
