Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has called for stronger coordination, effective consultations and strategic grassroots engagement among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council’s Contact and Mobilisation Committee ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Zulum made the call on Tuesday in Abuja during a meeting of the committee, urging members to demonstrate commitment, work in synergy and adopt practical strategies to achieve the objectives of the campaign organisation.

The governor, who serves as Coordinating Director of Contact and Mobilisation, stressed the need for a well-structured approach to political engagement, noting that the committee had a critical responsibility to harmonise the activities of its various units and groups in accordance with directives from the APC national leadership.

He said the committee’s central mandate was to coordinate efforts towards securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Zulum emphasised that achieving the objective would require sustained mobilisation, regular consultations and a shared sense of responsibility among members, rather than isolated efforts by individual groups.

He also advocated periodic meetings to evaluate ongoing activities, measure progress, identify operational gaps and develop fresh strategies for reaching stakeholders and mobilising support.

According to him, drawing on the collective experience and political expertise of committee members would be crucial to building an effective mobilisation framework capable of advancing the party’s electoral objectives.

The governor further urged members to strengthen communication and cooperation across the committee’s various units to ensure that their activities remained coordinated and aligned with the campaign council’s overall direction.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council in charge of mobilisation, Senator Adams Oshiomhole; Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Said Ahmad; Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim; and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

The meeting formed part of efforts to coordinate the committee’s activities and strengthen its mobilisation structure ahead of the next presidential election.
