Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary Election in Delta State after securing 407,646 votes in the exercise conducted across the state’s 25 local government areas.

The result was officially announced on Saturday in Asaba by Sheriff Oborevwori, who served as the State Coordinator and Returning Officer for the APC presidential primary election in Delta State.

Announcing the outcome after the collation of results from all wards across the state, Governor Oborevwori disclosed that the APC has a total registered membership strength of 467,815 in Delta State, out of which 407,646 members were accredited and participated in the exercise.

According to the governor, President Tinubu polled 407,646 votes to defeat his sole challenger, Mr. Stanley Osifo, who recorded no votes in the primary.

“By the powers conferred on me as the State Coordinator and Returning Officer, I hereby declare that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, having polled overwhelming votes in the presidential primary election, is hereby declared winner and returned elected as the presidential candidate of the party,” Oborevwori stated.

The declaration was witnessed by security agencies, party stakeholders, members of the press, and electoral officials, including President Tinubu’s agent, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon; the agent of Mr. Stanley Osifo, Mr. Kelvin Ezekiel; and the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Sir Etekamba Udo Umoren.

Governor Oborevwori commended APC members and stakeholders for the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state, describing the process as orderly, successful, and reflective of unity within the party.

Speaking shortly after the announcement, Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, thanked party members for their cooperation and commitment throughout the series of primary elections conducted by the party in the state.

“Today marks the climax of the party primaries, beginning from the House of Representatives, Senate, House of Assembly, Governorship, and now the Presidential Primary,” Arenyeka said.

“We thank God for the peaceful conduct of all the primary elections across Delta State.”

The presidential primary effectively concludes the APC’s internal electoral process in Delta State ahead of the party’s preparations for the next phase of political activities leading to the general elections.
