The Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, has paid tribute to the late former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON, on what would have been his 72nd birthday, describing him as an exceptional leader whose legacy of service and humanity will endure.

Osuoza, who served under Uduaghan’s administration, reflected on the life and contributions of the former governor, noting that although his passing on October 19, 2026, had cut short the opportunity to celebrate his birthday in person, his enduring legacy remained worthy of remembrance.

In a birthday tribute issued on Thursday October 22, 2026, to commemorate the occasion, the commissioner described Uduaghan as a distinguished statesman, compassionate physician and remarkable leader whose influence extended beyond the corridors of power.

He recalled his experience working under the late governor, describing him as a boss, mentor and leader whose compassion, humility and commitment to humanity left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of serving with him.

According to Osuoza, the former governor’s physical absence has not diminished the significance of his contributions to Delta State and the people he served during his time in office.

“Your voice may be silent, but your footprints remain indelible on the sands of time,” he said, reflecting on the enduring impact of Uduaghan’s life and leadership.

Osuoza noted that the posthumous birthday offered an opportunity to celebrate not only the life of the former governor but also the values, achievements and memories he left behind.

Paying a personal tribute to his former boss, the commissioner wished him eternal rest, describing his life as one marked by service, purpose and lasting impact.

“Rest gloriously, my former boss. You came, you served, and you made your mark!” Osuoza said.

He also honoured Uduaghan’s traditional title as the Asamaigor of Warri Kingdom, acknowledging the place he continued to occupy in the hearts of those who knew and worked with him.

The tribute concluded with prayers for the peaceful repose of the late former governor’s soul, as well as comfort and strength for his family, associates and all those mourning his demise.
