Chief Mulade Sheriff, PhD, a prominent Niger Delta environmental and human rights activist, has commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for successfully marking the groundbreaking ceremony for the N59.7 billion Lagos-Asaba Expressway Flyover in Agbor.
He urged politicians to refrain from contesting against the governor in the upcoming 2027 gubernatorial election, emphasizing that Oborevwori’s impressive performance warrants continuity for the benefit of the people of Delta State.
Speaking to reporters in Asaba following the groundbreaking ceremony for the flyover at Uromi Junction, the Ijaw leader expressed his admiration for Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to development.
“We just witnessed the groundbreaking of yet another flyover in the state.
“Not long ago, he inaugurated the one in Ughelli, and now, we celebrate the Agbor flyover, which will significantly enhance economic activities in the region.
“The governor deserves commendation for responding to our needs,” he stated.
Chief Mulade praised the governor for demonstrating readiness and competence in leading the state, stating, “He has never disappointed us.”
As the Ibe-Serimowei of the oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Mulade also highlighted the significance of the recent presentation of 65 SUVs to traditional rulers in the state, calling it a positive development.
“I want to thank our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for this gesture. He values our traditional rulers, who are custodians of our customs,” he added.
With the substantial progress observed in the state, Chief Mulade encouraged support for the governor’s second term bid, advocating that such support is crucial to sustaining ongoing, people-oriented projects.
“I appeal to our politicians not to distract him by contesting against a governor who has performed exceptionally well since taking office.
“We anticipate more project flag-offs across the state, especially in riverine areas this year,” he concluded.
