The Delta State Police Command has rolled out a robust security arrangement ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with the deployment of operatives to all accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the state to ensure a seamless and secure exercise.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, the Command said the initiative, directed by the Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, is part of a comprehensive, intelligence-led security framework designed to guarantee a hitch-free examination process.

The UTME, conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), is scheduled to take place from April 16 to April 25, 2026, across thirty-one accredited CBT centres in Delta State.

According to the statement, Area Commanders have been mandated to take full charge of security operations within their jurisdictions, particularly in locations hosting examination centres.

They are expected to ensure strict supervision of deployed personnel, maintain high visibility policing, and coordinate closely with Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, and JAMB officials.

The Command emphasized that the security strategy includes proactive intelligence gathering and the safeguarding of sensitive ICT infrastructure to prevent any attempts to undermine the integrity of the examination process.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on examination malpractice, the police warned that acts such as impersonation, cheating, or any form of disorderly conduct will attract immediate arrest and prosecution in line with the law.

Candidates were advised to adhere strictly to examination guidelines, maintain proper conduct, and arrive early at their designated centres.

The Commissioner of Police also reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property throughout the examination period.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious activities.

For emergencies or security concerns, the public has been advised to contact the Command Control Room via 08036684974.

The Delta State Police Command, while wishing all candidates success in the forthcoming examination, expressed confidence that the proactive measures in place would ensure a peaceful and incident-free UTME exercise across the state.
