ISSELE-UKU, Delta State — Political activities intensified in Aniocha North Local Government Area on Saturday, September 12, 2026, as Labour Party senatorial candidate for Delta North, Rex Chinye Biose, formally launched his campaign in Issele-Uku.
The campaign event attracted a large gathering of supporters, party loyalists and political associates, who turned out to identify with Biose’s aspiration to represent the district in the Senate.
Addressing the gathering, Biose said his ambition was driven by the desire to provide a different approach to political representation in Delta North and contribute to changing what he described as the prevailing political narrative.
He called on voters to support candidates who, according to him, possess the credibility, vision and commitment required to provide effective representation.
Biose also canvassed support for the presidential aspiration of Peter Gregory Obi of the New Nigeria People’s Congress (NDC), alongside his own senatorial bid on the Labour Party platform.
He argued that electing leaders who share a common vision at both the federal and legislative levels would create greater room for coordinated policymaking and economic development.
The Delta North senatorial candidate further reaffirmed his commitment to the Obidient Movement, saying he had identified with the movement from its early days and remained committed to Obi’s political aspiration.
According to him, the movement’s supporters must translate their political convictions into active participation and credible representation at the legislative level.
Biose’s senatorial ambition has continued to generate political interest across Delta North since he declared his intention to contest the seat, with his emergence increasingly viewed as a potential challenge to the established political order in the district ahead of the 2027 election.
