Final arrangements have been concluded for the burial of the late Mrs. Susan Caulker (née Irede), a beloved wife, mother, teacher, and respected figure in the Urhuoka-Abraka community of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State.
Mrs. Caulker, aged 63, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. Her burial rites will begin with a Service of Songs to honor her memory and legacy of kindness, humility, and devotion to family and faith.
According to a statement jointly signed by Mr. Stanley Irede and Miss Rukevwe Caulker, the official funeral programme is scheduled as follows:
Wednesday, June 11, 2025 (5:30 PM) Vigil Mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Otokutu, Ughelli South LGA.
Friday, June 13, 2025 (10:00 AM) Requiem Mass at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Urhuoka-Abraka, followed by an open reception at Urhuoka-Abraka School 1.
Sunday, June 15, 2025 (8:30 AM) Thanksgiving Mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Otokutu, to formally conclude the burial ceremonies.
The family has called on relatives, friends, and well-wishers to join in celebrating the life of a woman they describe as “a pillar of strength, love, and generosity.”
Mrs. Caulker was a trained teacher and successful businesswoman. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, aged mother, siblings including her immediate younger brother, veteran journalist Mr. Dennis Otu and numerous extended family members.
