400L DELSU Female Student To Be Crown Nwada Anioma Of Ibusa

A 400 level female student of the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Miss Gloria Ogechi Idegwu, ould be crown Nwada of Ibusa in Oshimili north local government area of the state.

Idegwu, bagged the position during the virtual edition of Nwada Anioma Cultural Beauty Pageant organized by Hom International tagged “Nwada Anioma Global Ambassador 2022,”.

She beat eight other girls to clinch the winner of the event hotly contested by young girls from the Anioma nation that represented the nine Anioma local government areas of the state.

After the victory of the 400 level student, planned has been put on the ground for a ceremony where she would be crowned on March 22, 2022, at the prestigious Go Hotel and Suites, Asaba, the State capital.

Here are the 7 things you need to know about the new Miss Nwada Anioma 2022:

1. She was born to Mr. Celestine Idegwu and Mrs. Philomena Idegwu (nee Onoh), both of Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. She actually hailed from Umueze Quarters of the community.

2. Miss Gloria is currently a Theatre Arts student of the Delta State University, Abraka where she’s writing her thesis with the topic, “Preservation of Culture through Theatrical Performances: A Case Study of Iwu Festival of Ibusa, Delta State.”

3. She chose Theatre Arts as a discipline because,e from birth, she had always been excited about the things of nature such as poetry, dance, drama, and others, and had always wished to be a performer.

4. She likes to read, travel,l and write poems. She dislikes gossip, cheating,g, and pride.

5. She joined the contest to promote the Akwa-Ocha cultural fabric of the Anioma people.

6. She is willing to change how the Anioma people are considered lowly and sidelined in some affairs,s especially in Delta State.

7. On what her fears were, contesting in the pageant, she had this to say: “Well, the Anioma girls are typically beautiful, but I was confident that I would carry the day.”

8. Role Model: HRM Obi Dr. Martha Dunkwu, the Omu of Okpanam/Anioma.
