The Delta State Police Command has recorded operational successes in Agbor and Warri following the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of live ammunition and quantities of beverages suspected to be adulterated.

The command disclosed this in a statement issued by its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on Sunday August 23, 2036.

According to the statement, operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit (SAKU), Ubulu-Uku, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a 28-year-old woman, identified as Happiness Clifford, over alleged involvement in gun-running activities in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.

A search of the suspect’s hideout reportedly led to the recovery of 10 live cartridges, which were allegedly concealed inside a bucket.

During preliminary investigation, the suspect was said to have identified her husband, Clifford Okoro, as an alleged major supplier of the ammunition.

The police said efforts had been intensified to apprehend Okoro, while investigation into the case continues.

Police Intercept Suspected Adulterated Drinks In Warri

In a separate operation, operatives of SAKU, Warri, intercepted a Toyota Sienna vehicle allegedly conveying quantities of “Gbefun Hot Drink”, suspected to be adulterated.

The operation took place on August 17, 2026, during a stop-and-search exercise along the Warri–Agbarho Expressway.

The 44-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested, while further investigation reportedly led the operatives to a warehouse at Lower Ginuwa, Warri.

Police said additional quantities of the suspected adulterated beverage and other drinks were recovered from the warehouse, alongside a Suzuki Shuttle bus reportedly loaded with similar products.

The suspected operators of the warehouse, however, allegedly fled upon sighting the police.

The command said efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and determine the source, distribution network and other persons connected to the suspected adulterated products.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the operatives for the breakthroughs and directed that investigations into both cases be pursued diligently.

He further ordered the operatives to ensure that all persons connected with the alleged offences are brought to justice.

The commissioner also appealed to residents to continue providing the police with credible and timely information that could assist ongoing efforts to tackle crime and protect public safety across the state.
