Any Officer Found Of Corrupt Practices Will Be Dealt With, Delta Police Commissioner Threatens

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ari Muhammed Ali, has stormed all eight Area Commands with the charge on all officers to shun any form of corrupt practices.

Ali, handed down the warning on Friday 26th February 2021, at the Asaba Area Command where he concluded his familiarization tour to the Area Commands, warning that “any officer found wanting would be dealth with accordingly”, just as he emphasized his zero tolerance for corruption.

The Commissioner of police advised indigenes against all form of fake news that is capable of worsening the already tensed security situation in country.

He tasked journalists, human right activists and online publishers to verify the authenticity of their information before going on air.

According to him, policemen serving in the state should respect the right of every citizens and also advised members of the public not to forget that the police too are also humans and have right as well that should be respected.

He pleaded to members of the public to avail all necessary information that would help the police to make Delta State safe for everyone.

Mr. Ali reiterates his commitment to serve Deltans geared towards ensuring that they are properly policed and ensure that justice and equity are given to all.

He pleaded with all stakeholders to work with the police for effective community policing, pointing out that security should not be left in the hands of the police alone just as he called for partnership between the police and the Communities for a safer state.

The Commissioner in all his visit to the eight Area Commands in Delta State informed the people of the reason to ensure that Delta is safe for all to live in

He said as a state where there is no peace, there would not be progress, saying that investors would be afraid to come to the state to invest, thereby increasing the rate of unemployment and reduce development.

The Area commands includes, Warri, Ughelli, Burutu, Ozoro, Sapele, Agbor, Ogwashi-uku and Asaba Area Commands.

The tour which started on the 3rd of February 2020 with the Commissioner of police visiting  Warri Area Command ended on the 26th of February with the visit to the Asaba Area Command, which was graced by all stakeholders, traditional rulers, vigilante, PCRC and human right activists in the state.
