DELTA 2023: I Am Happy You Chested Out For the Poor Deltans, Archbishop Avwomakpa Tells Gbagi

Former chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Delta State chapter, Archbishop Bishop Dr. Goddowell Avwomakpa, has expressed satisfaction over the decision of the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, to contest the gubernatorial election come 2023.

Archbishop Avwomakpa, who is the Senior Pastor, Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church, stated this during a Thanksgiving Dinner organized by the Christian Organization for Good Governance.

The event which was held at the Oginibo country home of the former minister of State for education in Ughelli south local government area of the state, saw over 3, 000 worshippers and clergymen who offered prayers to God on behalf of the largest private investor in the state for God to see him, his family campaign organization through.

According to Archbishop Avwomakpa, the body of Christ needs solution, pointing out that government plays major role in the life of the Church, stressing that the Church needs a man who would stand for the less privilege in the society.

His words; “The Church is looking for a solution, the Church is looking for somebody who will stand and the poor people will rejoice.

“You will not know how much the government affect the Church. I am happy that our son Chief Gbagi has decided to carry the cross and become the governor of Delta State.

“So, ladies and gentlemen, we must vote for the prosperity of the land, we must vote for our children. The Church is in search. We are searching for those who will represent us. We are here to check for what God is looking for.

“And if God is looking for Gbagi, then we must run round with Gbagi, to lift him up”.

In his prayers, Avwomakpa who led the Church in intensive intercession for Gbagi, disclosed that the Church needs someone who would sit on the driver’s seat to pilot the affairs of the state.

“Lord God almighty, the Church is searching for those to drive the car of the nation and of the State, we need a good driver. We are appealing, your son, he has decided to drive Delta State.

“We pray thee that if it is your will for your son to drive it and your name will be glorified, make it firm by this decision”, Archbishop Avwomakpa prayed.
