There Was So Much Distraction In My Government In The Last Two Years, Okowa Cries Out

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, has divulged reasons why he sacked his cabinet, saying those with ambition distracted his government in the last two years.

Okowa gave the revelation on Wednesday May 19th 2021, during the quarterly media interaction in government house, Asaba.

Hear him: “At some point in time in the course of an administration, there are always reasons to take some actions. I believe that I have been on in this administration in the past six years, we have two years to go.

“Obviously there has been a lot of distraction among some members of exco and in the distraction, why they have been working very actively and strong and so many of them have been very useful to me but the fact is, in the last two years, we need to be able to be sure that we reduce the level of distractions in governance.

“And if we do not take that action, I may have an exco that is summarily divided in the last two years and that will not enable me to achieve my vision. So, I thought that there was a need to rework the exco in such a manner that portray the least stress where those in exco will know that their minds is in what we are able to achieve in the next two years rather than in their private ambitions and that was the key factor.
