The Ijaws are in a clandestine move to scuttle the unwritten agreement reached by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), for power to rotate round the three districts.

There is speculation that a new arrangement by some leaders of the party alleging a former governor and party chieftain, James Onanefe Ibori, is fronting for the Senator representing Delta south Senatorial District in National Assembly (NASS), Senator James Manager, for the state governor come 2023.
The unconfirmed rumour has it that the current Chief of Staff, Olorogun David Edevbie, would Deputize Senator Manager, come 2023, if the arrangement scaled through.
