A non-political pressure group from the Ijaw extraction, Ijaw Patriotic Front (IPF), has noted that the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr. Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, has the requisite political experience to sustain and improve on the numerous developmental projects of the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, when called upon for service.

“We are not fixated on an election still far off, however, there is a firm resolve among a large number of Deltans, inrespective of political affiliations or ethnicity, that the current Deputy Governor has played a stabilizing role in the state.

The group made the declaration during a press briefing held in Port Hacourt, the Rivers State Capital recently.

IPF spoke on the fast development pace the state has experienced under the Dr. Okowa-led administration with the unparalleled support of his Deputy, Barr. Otuaro.

President of the group, Barr. Miebi Owuopele, lauded the Deputy Governor for his committment to public service, playing an active role in the rebranding and developmental strides of the state in the past five years.

On the 2023 governorship election, Owuopele said: “We are more concerned with the spread of development to every nook and crannies of Delta State, which the SMART AGENDA of Governor Okowa, has played a pivotal role, especially in the areas  of road construction, infrastructural and human capacity development, which is the hallmark of every successful administration”.

He described the Deputy Governor as an astute politician and a silent achiever, whose mantra of “loyalty, hard work and his utter belief, that with God, everything is possible”, has helped Okowa, in surmounting  every difficulty in the line of public service to Deltans.

Similarly, Secretary of the group, Miss Faith Ayebakuro, while speaking on the silent philanthropic gestures of the Deputy Governor, also commended Utuaro’s stance  on gender equality.

According to her, “appointing a smart and intellectually sound Special Assistant on Media, Elohor Rita Agbra, who has been proactive in projecting the developmental strides of the Governor Okowa-led administration and achievements of Deacon Otuaro, as Deputy Governor of the state, really tells you he has his heart in the right place”.

Meanwhile, the Special Assistant on Media to the Deputy Governor, Rita Agbra, in Asaba, in the aftermath of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, said “The Deputy Governor’s message to Nigerians is simple we  should not  take in vain, the sacrifices of our gallant officers, men and women, who fell in the line of duty, to protect our territorial Sovereignty and the lives and properties of Nigerians.

“Their heroic deeds should be a constant reminder to us, to rise above petty political and ethnic sentiments, and instead, live as brothers and sisters, with a common goal of nation building, which is an enormous task and can only be achieved collectively, if we all work as a single unit but with a  formidable strength of purpose.

“Most importantly, we must not forget the widows and family of those fallen, our magnanimity, must never be far from them”, she added.

It would be recall that Barr. Kingsley Otuaro served as the Commissioner representing the Ijaw ethnic nationality on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) between 2011 and 2012 and was re-appointed and between 2012 to 2014.

A Deacon of the Christ Embassy Christian Church, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, is married to Engr.(Mrs.) Ebierin Otuaro and the union is blessed with children.
