Police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti-cult unit in conjunction with Scorpion vigilante group, Obosi quickly responded, moved to the scene and nabbed the suspects on Saturday 27th February 2021.
Their arrest followed a tip-off at about 5:30pm, following a distress call that armed robbers were operating along Nkpor/Obosi axis.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Haruna Mohammed, the bandits on sighting the police, engaged them into a fierce gun battle.
He disclosed that the police overpowered the suspects who sustained gunshot injuries on their hands and legs leading to their arrest.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Monday Bala Kuryas, thanked “Ndi Anambra” for their cooperation and urged them to sustain the tempo by assisting the Command with actionable intelligence in order to discover authors of crime in the State.
The CP further reassure the public that the command under his watch will continue to protect lives and properties of all the citizens in accordance with internationally acceptable best practises.
Those nabbed are Chiboy Ezike, 25 years old of Abagana in Njikoka local government area of Anambra State and Chiemere Ajuluchukwu aged 23 years of Awada area.

“Exhibits recovered in their possessions include two locally made pistols and 10 live cartridges.
“Suspects were taken to the hospital for treatment after which they will be charged to court for prosecution”.
