The organization had over the week trained the media, Advocacy Core Group (ACG), the Interfaith and the Social Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) Group on need to source alternative funding and to build a sustainability plan.

The workshop which has as it’s theme, “Resource Mobilisation and Proposal Writing” was part of TCI’s capacity building.

This was to enable each group sustain its mandate of building a serene society using the tool of FP in the state and country at large.

No fewer than 80 participants drawn from the various platforms benefited from the capacity building.

According to the initiative, the training had become necessary to prepare the platforms for sustainability as the FP sponsored programme cycle comes to and end in the state.

Admonishing the participants, the immediate past State Coordinator  Reproductive Health and Family Planning, Dr. Christian Tesola, urged the beneficiaries to utilise the benefit of the training to build their sustainable plan.

According to Tesola, the TCI has shown great support to the system by providing financial, technical and material support towards sustainability of the programme.

Mrs. Nwanne Kalu, State Programme Coordinator, TCI, who delivered a lecture on “Leadership” said that it had become necessary to equip participants with the leadership skills.

Kalu said this was to effectively coordinate and build a platform for effective and sustainable programme  action.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to NAN, said the capacity building was timely, more so now that TCI programme cycle has been completed in the state.

Rev. Godfrey Onyeawuli, Chairman Interfaith and his Co-chairman Alhaji Yenusa, lauded TCI for the training.
