Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has provided official vehicles to the newly inaugurated Chairmen of the 16 Local Government Councils in the state.
The presentation ceremony held on Friday, December 5th, 2025, at the TY Danjuma House, Jalingo.
Representing the governor, the Secretary to the Taraba State Government, Gebon Timothy Kataps, handed over the JAC pickup vans and charged the Chairmen to immediately swing into action by prioritising the security of their communities and safeguarding land and forest resources across the state.
Kataps further urged the Chairmen to justify the confidence reposed in them by the people and to work closely with traditional leaders within their domains to ensure effective governance and smooth administration.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau for Local Government, Traditional and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr. Godfrey Dame, said the vehicles were procured to enhance the Chairmen’s efficiency in discharging their duties and to strengthen service delivery at the grassroots.
A cross-section of the Chairmen expressed gratitude to Governor Kefas for the gesture, pledging their commitment to align with his developmental vision for the state
