The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has announced the emergence of a new State Working Committee, elected by consensus in accordance with the Electoral Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The newly constituted leadership reflects representation from the three senatorial zones of the state.
Alhaji Abubakar Bawa from the Central Senatorial Zone was elected as State Chairman, while Pastor Stephen Othaniel from Taraba North emerged as Deputy State Chairman.
Irama Andetarang from Taraba South was elected State Secretary, and Fedelis Francis from Taraba North will serve as State Assistant Secretary.
Other members of the State Working Committee include Fashak Aboki as State Legal Adviser; Aliyu Mohammed as State Treasurer; Bala Baba as State Financial Secretary; Edward Umar as State Organising Secretary; Aaron Artimas as State Publicity Secretary; and Dauda Ayuba Addikenjo as State Welfare Secretary.
Also elected were Nelson Kassong as State Auditor; Margrade Mchivita as State Women Leader; Rose Musa as Deputy Women Leader; and Addikehda Shekarau Masa-Ibl as State Youth Leader.
In addition, the party elected deputy officers to members of the State Working Committee, Zonal Chairmen, ex-officio members, and representatives of persons living with disabilities, among others.
Reacting to the development, some party members described the composition of the committee as inclusive and balanced, noting that it adequately reflects the diverse interests and geographical spread of the state.
They expressed confidence that the experience and political depth of the newly elected officials would strengthen internal cohesion, promote stability, and reposition the party for greater success in Taraba State.
