The Chairman of the Taraba State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Moses Maihankali, has commended the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) congress that produced members of the party’s State Working Committee.
Maihankali, who spoke in Jalingo, congratulated the newly elected officials of the All Progressives Congress in the state, describing the consensus-driven process that produced the party leadership as a demonstration of unity and maturity among party members.
According to him, the orderly and successful conduct of the congress reflected the commitment of party stakeholders to strengthening internal democracy and cohesion within the party.
“I congratulate the newly elected state officials of the APC and wish them a successful tenure as they steer the affairs of the party to greater heights and future victories,” he said.
Maihankali also commended the Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, alongside other party stakeholders, for fostering an atmosphere that enabled the congress to be conducted peacefully.
“With the successful conclusion of the ward, local government and state congresses, we are by God’s grace better positioned to prepare for future electoral engagements,” he added.
In a related development, a chieftain of the APC and immediate past Taraba State ALGON Chairman, Aminu Jauro Hassan, also praised the peaceful conduct of the congresses, describing the outcome as a reflection of unity among party members.
Speaking with journalists in Jalingo, Hassan urged the newly elected State Working Committee members to justify the confidence reposed in them by promoting inclusiveness and strengthening the party’s structure across the state.
He emphasized the need for political actors in Taraba State to work together for the overall development of the state, noting that collaboration and mutual understanding remain essential for achieving collective progress.
Hassan further encouraged the new party leadership to carry all members along in the discharge of their responsibilities and to focus on initiatives that would strengthen the party and promote development within the state.
