The Royal Mother of Anioma Nation and veteran media practitioner, HRM Obi Martha Dunkwu (Omu Anioma/Nneoha) has eulogized the new General Manager of Bridge Radio Asaba, Mr. Gospel Amaliamifeobu, saying that his promotion to the exhalted office of GM was well deserved.

She gave this commendation when she visited the Radio House to identify with and congratulate the new GM, Wednesday 7th September, 2022, at Anwai Road, Asaba, Delta State.

Omu Dunkwu who said that leadership cannot be taught in a two weeks programme, posited that Amaliamifeobu fitted into the position of leadership of the media outfit based on his antecedents.

According to her, “With due respect, I have come here today to identify with the new GM and congratulate him for deserving the elevation that he got. I congratulate you on your numerous achievements in the Media industry. I must profess that you are guided by faith and matchless fortitude, hence this promotion.

“You are a practical person, down to earth and focused; so I urge you to remain upright and work in synergy with your colleagues as a team.

“You must know that media is powerful and in your pursuit of getting information to the public, you must be careful not to slide into trouble.

“I am glad that there are enough women in your team, almost the equal of the number of men. I must tell you that no nation can grow in isolation of women.

“I want to appeal to you female colleagues of Gospel Amaliamifeobu to work with him in a way that makes it possible for you to fulfill your purpose and not see the platform as a place to promote equality.

“I want to appreciate you for your quantum of supports for my person. After a disclaimer was done on me, the German government came looking for partnership with me to use my photograph to promote anti human trafficking.

“This was made possible by the effort of the media to investigate and report the true position of things.

“The world has also come to know about us and the beauty of the institution of Omu, all thanks to the media. That was the effort I put for over two decades in propagating and promoting this institution, and it paid off in changing the narratives.

“The Western world had been telling our stories in the negative, but today, they have come to love our culture to the extent that they are now coming to understudy us.

“With the media, the resilience of the institution of Omu has continued to resonate globally. I have come to appreciate the power of voicing out rather than being voiceless which is the position many assume to dodge speaking the truth.

“And I must challenge the traditional institution to speak out; it’s not enough to be honoured and paid homages but when the people are languishing the rulers can’t speak out for them.

“Once again, I congratulate you for the immense work you are doing for humanity. The media is a humanitarian entity; and that is why I commend you greatly for your strength of conviction and dexterity to positive duty.

“There is no amount of money any employer can pay you that can commensurate with the information you bring to the public on daily basis.

“In your editorial policy thrust, please focus on women. The decay of the nation is coming from the failure of womanhood and abandonment of motherhood.

“You must initiate campaigns for the training of women as a veritable means of adding value to humanity and advancing the socioeconomic development of our society”, Omu affirmed.

Responding, Mr. Amaliamifeobu appreciated Omu Anioma for coming to visit him, saying that the visit was humbling to him.

Wondering why he should deserve such a royal visit, the new GM said he had been refired, energized and empowered to work harder with the hope that he has solid people behind him.

He pledged to continue on the path of developmental journalism and support to the institution of Omu, promising never to disappoint the confidence already reposed in him by the Omu and many other Anioma and Delta people.

It could be noted that other management staff of Bridge Radio were also on hand to receive the Omu.

They include Christopher Ashiedu a.k.a Belushi, Marketing Manager, Chito Anakwe, News/Programme Manager, Isioma Vivian Gbunnor, Facility Manager, Nelson Emmanuel, Head of Engineering, Amaka Ejinkonye, OAP, Ifeanyichukwu Ike, Head of Traffic and Mabel Akata, Public Relations Officer.
