Former Deputy Governor Deacon Barrister Kingsley B. Otuaro has paid a Yuletide courtesy visit to immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, reaffirming their enduring bond and shared commitment to the peace, stability, and development of the state.
The visit, which took place during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, was marked by warmth, reflection, and spiritual fellowship.
Beyond a seasonal exchange of goodwill, the meeting provided an opportunity for both leaders to jointly pray for Delta State, its people, and the continued success of the current administration.
Otuaro’s visit, now a familiar feature of his festive engagements, highlighted the strong relationship he and Okowa built during their eight years of joint stewardship of the state between 2015 and 2023.
That partnership, rooted in mutual respect and a common vision for Delta’s progress, has remained intact even after their exit from public office.
During the interaction, both men reflected on their years in government, sharing insights drawn from their leadership experiences and emphasising the importance of unity, continuity, and collective responsibility in public service.
They stressed that service to the people does not end with the conclusion of one’s tenure but continues through counsel, support, and prayer.
A major highlight of the visit was a joint prayer session in which Otuaro and Okowa committed Delta State and its leadership into God’s hands.
They prayed for sustained peace, divine wisdom for Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and inclusive development that would positively impact communities across the state.
Observers have described the meeting as a clear demonstration of political maturity and responsible leadership.
At a time when political discourse is often marred by rivalry and division, the reunion of the former governor and his deputy is being hailed as an example of harmony, loyalty, and statesmanship.
For many residents of Delta State, the meeting rekindled memories of a period defined by cooperation and stability.
The visit, blending reflection with faith, underscored the belief that true leadership transcends office, guided by unity of purpose, moral conviction, and an unwavering commitment to the peace and progress of the state.
