Four Kidnapped FULafia Students Regain Freedom

The Management of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) on Sunday said that four students of the institution who were abducted on Thursday 13th January, 2022 have regained freedom from their abductors.

The release of the kidnapped four students was contained in a press statement signed by Public Relations Officer of the institution, Abubakar Ibrahim, and made available to newsmen in Lafia, the state capital.

The statement said the four students who were kidnapped outside the university premises, were released at the late hours of Saturday, January 15, 2022.

According to the statement,”The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, therefore, on behalf of the management of the institution, expressed his profound gratitude to the Nasarawa State Government and the general public for their contributions, prayers and support to the University during the trying moment.

“The vice-chancellor expresses the University’s special appreciation to the security agencies for their timely interventions that led to the quick and safe return of the students.

The statement added that the released students have undergone medical checks and they were all found to be in good condition and immediately resume their studies.

Abdul Rahman calls on the students to remain calm and go about their normal activities on both campuses of the University.

He assures the parents, students and public of his administration’s commitment to make lives and property safe in and around the campuses of the University.
