Ebonyi Governor Launches One Man, One Sanitizer Programme

As the nation continues to battle the Corona Virus pandemic, with vaccines not yet in sight, the Ebonyi State Government said it must continue to adapt and adopt approaches to stay afloat.

This approach which is in line with Nigeria’s Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) protocols of use of sanitizers, regular hand washing, and social distancing.

Governor David Umahi, who launched the programme Tuesday 1st September 2020, at the Ecumenical Centre Abakaliki, the state capital, said the state government would continue to alleviate the condition of the masses, adding that since other protocols of the NCDC are not capital intensive save sanitisers, government according to him deemed it necessary to bridge the purchasing gap in other to ensure the virus is seriously decimated as the school is reopened for exit classes. 

He urged the people to ensure it is used because the sanitizers went through various medical screening phases to emerge the best.

He said, “this is the best sanitisers you will find anywhere, everyone should please ensure they use it”.

Meanwhile, those who attended the launching went home with samples of the state made hand sanitizer.

The event witnessed a large turnout of political leaders and other cremes de la creme of the society.

Recall that when the virus broke out, Ebonyi State was the first to initiate various mechanisms geared towards its containment through the building of virology centre, upgrade of General Hospitals and holding centres.
